We invite you to become a member of the West Virginia Scenic Trails Association (WVSTA).

Membership is an important part of the WVSTA. As an all-volunteer organization we rely on our members to offset the costs of tools, equipment and supplies to build and maintain the 311 miles of the Allegheny Trail (ALT), the longest trail in West Virginia.

Membership provides the opportunity to be part of a vibrant volunteer organization that maintains the ALT.

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

  • Membership levels
    $10 - Introductory membership
    $10 - Student membership
    $20 - Military veteran membership
    $20 - Senior (65+) membership
    $25 - Individual membership
    $35 - Family membership
    $500 - Life membership

  • Student memberships are for individuals age 22 and under.

  • Senior membership is for individuals age 65 and over.

  • General membership benefits are …

    General members ALL get the same benefits.

    • One vote at the WVSTA annual meeting.

    • One name automatically entered in a WVSTA holiday raffle basket per year drawn in December.

    • 10% off web-store merchandise.

    • 2 newsletters - the WVSTA quarterly newsletter and the ALT monthly newsletter. Both newsletters are sent via email.

    • Free zoom series access.

    • Early registration for ALT organized hikes.

  • The Mary Ingles Trail Blazers (MITB) chapter of the WVSTA works to develop and maintain the Mary Ingles Trail (MIT) near the route taken by Mary Draper Ingles following her escape in 1755 from Shawnee captors at what is now Big Bone Lick, Kentucky. The group also works to promote an interest in hiking and an appreciation of the importance of conservation to our outdoor heritage. Learn more on our Mary Ingles Trail page.

    The MITB was formed in 1989 as a chapter of the WVSTA.

  • You may add to your WVSTA general membership, an additional membership for the MITB (Mary Ingles Trail Blazers) Chapter of the WVSTA.

    MITB Chapter membership is an $8.00 add-on to a WVSTA membership.

    MITB membership is not a stand-alone membership.
