WVSTA’s 2018 Wild Foods Weekend

When: November 9-11, 2018

Where: Cass Scenic Railroad State Park in Company House no. 139

What to Bring: Wild foods & beverages to share, sleeping pad & bag, toiletries, hiking shoes/boots, rain gear, camera, ideas, and a few $$ (~$50 guesstimate) to help with cost of house rental.

What we have: 5 bedroom cottage (5 double beds & 2 singles, cots, floor space, 2 or 3 bathrooms, full kitchen, and fun people.

Weekend activities: Friday night - meet and greet, maybe share some photos.

Saturday morning - “Choice of a guided tour of Cass or a hike on Allegheny Trail and/or Greenbrier River Trail"

Asst. Supt. Marshall Markley has set up a tour of the town for us to start at 10am.

Saturday lunch - wild goodies.

Saturday afternoon - another hike.

Saturday 5pm - WVSTA board meeting.

Saturday 6:30pm - wild supper.

Saturday 8pm - more photo sharing or night hike.

Sunday morning - clean up, pack up, & get ready for next adventure if you so choose,

Sunday 10:30am - Next adventure: Drive to Rowlesburg, WV (about 3 hours north) to the dedication of the Reger Shelter.
